Years of Heroes Project...From the Office of the Lt. Governor,
Mike Stack... Mr. Salim Makhlouf, Director
of Penn Studios, has reached out to the LT. Governor's Veterans
Task Force for assistance on locating veterans for personal
interviews on their service in the military. These interviews
will be used for an upcoming project that he is developing
to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day.
If anyone can recommend or nominate any veterans in Monroeville
for this project, feel free to contact Mr. Makhlouf directly
at 717-255-8470 or email: smakhlouf@pennlive.com.
It should be noted that Mr. Makhlouf currently has a high
number of WW2 veterans and is looking for minority servicemen
and women that have served in recent conflicts such as Afghanistan,
Bosnia, Somalia, Iraq, etc.

The
1st
Annual Monroeville Community Day will be on Saturday,
July 28, 2018 at Monroeville Community Park West located
in Monroeville along Tilbrook Road.
The event will kick-off at 8:00 a.m. with a 5K
Run/Walk: “Run for Your Life & Walk With-A-Doc”
and a Family
Festival from 11:00am - 5:30 p.m. Activities will include
a health fair, exhibitor and crafter marketplace, kid’s
activities, food truck and vendors, and live music and entertainment.

Preliminary Pavement Preservation Program Scope

Stream
Maintenance...with all of the rain the community
has experienced in the last couple of weeks, we have received
a few phone calls referring to the overflowing of streams
near residents’ properties. The Dept. of Environmental
Protection has invaluable information on the Do’s and
Don’ts of what an adjacent property owner can do to

Duquesne Light Company...In
order to continue to deliver safe and reliable power, Duquesne
Light is conducting inspections of its equipment in residential
housing plans to ensure safety and compliance with required
clearance standards.
In instances
where customers have planted vegetation or installed other
materials that encroach on equipment or are in violation of
clearance requirements, door hangers are being placed advising
the customer that they need to remove any such encroachments
within 30 days.

Alcosan's Clean Water Assistance Fund...The
Allegheny County Sanitary Authority has created the Clean
Water Assistance Fund to help families pay their sewage treatment
bills. This program serves low-income residential customers
