In the early 1950's, as Monroeville began to grow as a community, the need for recreation and recreational facilities also began to grow. Today the municipality boasts more than 650 acres of parkland and a complete offering of recreational programs.


GRAND OPENING...Westmoreland Heritage Trail—Phase Three, 5.9 miles from Murrysville to Trafford. Saturday, September 30, 2017

10:00 a.m
.—Robert’s Trail Access in Murrysville between the Fire Place Store and Airgas Supply along US Route 22 East. Limited parking is available at the Robert’s Trail Access Visitors Center, the Branthoover Cut-Off located across US Route 22, and Murrysville Community Center.

11:15 a.m.
—Saunder’s Station Trail Access in Monroeville

12:00 p.m.—Trafford Trail Access at the Parkside Creamery

Visit the parks online to see the features of the parks that are available for reservations. Included are pictures, descriptions and a calendar which shows the availability of each park. It's not too early to make your reservations for next year's picnic.
