The police force of 44 officers answers approximately 16,000 service calls per year. The force includes a Special Operations Division which includes a Criminal Investigations (Detective) Division and Patrol Division which includes a K-9 Unit. The rank structure consists of one Chief of Police, sergeants and corporals, in addition to patrolmen.

In order to apply, you will need a valid PA License or PA Photo ID, $20 cash and a filled out application. We will have applications available on-site. We are ONLY accepting ALLEGHENY COUNTY RESIDENTS.

In addition, our evidence custodian will be in attendance to take in any unused or expired prescription drugs to be disposed of properly. We will accept any medications/pills EXCEPT:
- Glass bottles
- Liquids
- Syringes
- Inhalers/Insulin
- Creams

Unused medication disposal is now available at the Monroeville Municipal Building (rear entrance), 2700 Monroeville Blvd. The collection box shown above will be permanently located in the Police Department lobby and will accept all unused medications.
